Nederpop
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre
Nederpop is the collective name for Dutch pop music. In the early 1980s bands broke through that sang in their own language, the Dutch counterpart of the Neue Deutsche Welle. Doe Maar played ska and reggae with Dutch lyrics and broke through massively in 1982; Het Goede Doel made synth-pop and the Frank Boeijen Groep new wave. Singing in Dutch now became ordinary pop in the charts too.
