In the 1990s the Dutch-language song grew for a large audience: from 1994 Marco Borsato had one hit after another with ballads. Acda en de Munnik continued the line of kleinkunst, and BLØF, with Geike Arnaert, made Zoutelande (2017), one of the biggest hits ever in the Netherlands. Around 2020 Snelle and Froukje found their audience through TikTok and YouTube.
