EDM
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre
Around 2010 electronic dance music became the big new genre in the United States, under the name EDM. Festivals drew hundreds of thousands of visitors and the DJ became a pop star with a light show of his own. Avicii built Levels on a vocal sample of Etta James, and Martin Garrix made Animals on a laptop in his bedroom.
