From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre

In France, producers such as Daft Punk, Cassius and Étienne de Crécy made French house from the mid-1990s: house tracks with filters and samples from old disco and funk. In Around the World (1997) a single phrase is repeated over and over again while the accompaniment changes around the voice.
