Jungle and drum and bass
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre
Jungle and drum and bass · In the early 1990s London producers sped up the breakbeats of rave to 160 to 180 bpm and put a deep, slow bass line under them, borrowed from reggae and dub: jungle. In the mid-1990s the style became tighter and more technical and acquired the name drum and bass, with Goldie, Roni Size and LTJ Bukem as well-known names.
