Krautrock
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre
Krautrock · In West Germany, bands such as Can, Neu! and Kraftwerk sought a sound of their own, free of American and British rock; English journalists called it krautrock. Neu! was founded by Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger, who had played briefly with Kraftwerk. Their motorik beat later returned in post-punk, in electronic music and with Radiohead.
Listening
Listening tip. Listen to Hallogallo for how the drums keep the same 4/4 rhythm for minutes on end without fills, like a car at a constant speed.
