Siamese Dream

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Album

On 27 July 1993 Siamese Dream was released by The Smashing Pumpkins from Chicago. Singer and guitarist Billy Corgan piled dozens of guitar parts on top of one another into a wall of sound. The songs alternate between lovely and furious. The album became a great success and made the band one of the most important of 1990s alternative rock.

Listening

Listening tip. In Today a cheerful guitar motif sounds, but the lyrics are about the best day of your life, while you actually want to die. Music and lyrics pull apart.
