Tongue n’ Cheek
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Tongue n’ Cheek · Tongue n' Cheek is the fourth studio album by the British rapper Dizzee Rascal and was released on 20 September 2009. In interviews he let it be known that he was leaving his grime roots behind for more mainstream pop. Calvin Harris produced one track. The album also uses samples: Dirtee Cash takes a piece of Dirty Cash by The Adventures of Stevie V, Can't Tek No More uses Warrior's Charge by Aswad and Chillin' Wiv Da Man Dem takes Oh Honey by Delegation.
Dance Wiv Me, Bonkers, Holiday and Dirtee Disco went to number 1 in the British chart. The reviews were positive. The Guardian still found the distorted synthesizers exciting, and Q called it the first truly big record of British rap. It became the best-selling album of his career.
