Fifth
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Dizzee Rascal released Fifth (on the cover The Fifth) on 30 September 2013 on Dirtee Stank Recordings and Island Records. It was his first record after his move to Universal. He recorded the album between September 2011 and April 2013, largely in Los Angeles. Producers included RedOne, will.i.am, Hi-Tek and M.J. Cole.
The record mixes hip hop, dance-leaning pop and grime, and features many guests, including Jessie J, Robbie Williams, Sean Kingston, Tinie Tempah and Bun B. Dizzee himself called it the best-produced record he had made up to that point. The album continued the experimental direction of Tongue n' Cheek (2009). Reviews were mixed, with 51 out of 100 on Metacritic. The album reached number 10 in the United Kingdom. "Goin' Crazy" was the most successful single, reaching number 5.
