Scorpio’s Dance

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Scorpio’s Dance · Scorpio's Dance is the third album by Shocking Blue, released in 1970 on Pink Elephant Records. In Japan it was released under the title Sally Was a Good Old Girl. The group continues its exploration of country and Americana, with songs such as Alaska Country and Sally Was a Good Old Girl.

At the same time the record stays true to the group's rock roots. The band grew musically, but in America the album did not do so well. Since the reissue in 1990, the singles Send Me a Postcard, Mighty Joe and Hello Darkness have appeared as bonus tracks on CD and LP. The line-up consists of singer Mariska Veres, guitarist and sitar player Robbie van Leeuwen, drummer Cor van der Beek and bassist Klaasje van der Wal.
