Light & Magic

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Light & Magic is the second studio album by the English band Ladytron. It was released on 17 September 2002 in the United States by Emperor Norton and on 2 December in the United Kingdom by Telstar Records. An earlier version of NuHorizons had already appeared as a B-side on the 2001 single The Way That I Found You, under the title Holiday 601. Seventeen appeared on the soundtrack of the 2003 film Party Monster, and the instrumental version was used in television commercials for a Christina Aguilera perfume.

The press was enthusiastic. Rolling Stone included the album on its list of the fifty best albums of 2002, Muzik called it the best electropop of that year and Drowned in Sound placed it at number 14 on its year-end list. NME placed it at number 41.
