Italo disco
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre
Italo disco · In Italy a form of electronic dance music of its own emerged, a mixture of synth-pop and Eurodisco, with Giorgio Moroder as the great forerunner. Producers released solo projects under invented names, with English lyrics in an Italian accent. Arpeggiators and vocoders define the sound.
Listening
Listening tip. Listen to Dolce Vita for the bass in eighth notes from an arpeggiator, like an engine that never stops.
