Heartland rock

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre

Heartland rock · Bruce Springsteen of New Jersey made rock about ordinary people, work, cars and the dream of getting away. For Born to Run (1975) he built a wall of sound modelled on Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. Born in the U.S.A. (1984) sounds like an anthem, but is about a Vietnam veteran who cannot find work.
