Anne Dudley

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Artist

Anne Dudley studied at the Royal College of Music and became known in the 1980s as a member of the electronic pop group Art of Noise. She then began writing film music. Her breakthrough was The Crying Game (1992), with classical orchestra and subtle synthesizers. For The Full Monty (1997) she won an Oscar for Best Comedy Score. She then worked on American History X (1998), with choir and large orchestra. For Paul Verhoeven she wrote the music for Zwartboek (2006) and Elle (2016). Dudley combines a classical orchestral training with her experience as a pop producer. She works as easily with orchestra and choir as with studio technique.
