Made in Lagos · Wizkid's fourth studio album was released on 30 October 2020. It followed Sounds from the Other Side from 2017, with stand-alone singles and the EP Soundman Vol. 1, a test for the Afro-European market, in between. The release was pushed back a few weeks because of the End SARS protests in Nigeria. P2J was executive producer, and guests such as Burna Boy, Skepta, H.E.R. and Tems sing along.

The music mixes Afrobeats and R&B, with a mid-tempo production and Auto-Tuned melodies. Local African percussion forms the core of the beats. Smile with H.E.R. was the first single. Essence with Tems became the biggest success: the remix with Justin Bieber was the highest-charting single by an African act on the Billboard Hot 100. Critics praised the cohesion and the rich production. The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album.
