Shaken ’n’ Stirred
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Shaken ’n’ Stirred · Shaken 'n' Stirred is Robert Plant's third solo album. It was released on 20 May 1985 on his own label Es Paranza Records. He produced it together with Benji Le Fevre and Tim Palmer. He later said that he was greatly impressed by Talking Heads and therefore kept writing ever more unusual music, using new studio techniques. At times, he said himself, this made him lose his way.
The single Little by Little spent two weeks at the top of the Mainstream Rock chart, and Sixes and Sevens also became a hit there. According to Plant, Too Loud is a funny song that was misunderstood. For the backing vocals he asked singers from Bette Midler's entourage. In 2007 a remastered edition appeared with an additional track.
