The Principle of Moments
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
With The Principle of Moments, Robert Plant released his second solo album in 1983, after Pictures at Eleven. Swan Song no longer existed, so he started a label of his own, Es Paranza, which was distributed through Atlantic. Phil Collins again played drums on five of the eight tracks, Barriemore Barlow, formerly of Jethro Tull, on two. On the closing track Big Log, Gerald Woodroffe programmed a drum machine, the Roland TR-808.
Like its predecessor, the sound departed from the hard rock of Led Zeppelin. Other Arms was the most popular song on American album rock radio and reached number one on the Billboard Top Tracks. Big Log became his first solo hit in the American top 40. The album reached the American and British top 10. A tour followed in 1983, on which Collins was the band's drummer in North America.
