Absolutely

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Absolutely is the second album by the English ska band Madness and was released on 26 September 1980 by Stiff Records. The producers were Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley. The title comes from an expression that the group's tour manager often used. The cover shows the band in front of Chalk Farm tube station in Camden.

The album sounds somewhat smoother than the rawer predecessor One Step Beyond..., with more R&B and funk. It yielded some of their biggest hits, such as Baggy Trousers and Embarrassment, and the instrumental The Return of the Los Palmas 7. The reviews were mixed to positive. One American reviewer thought the group an English version of the Blues Brothers, while AllMusic later wrote that the polish actually suits the three big singles.
