Duality
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Duality is a collaboration between Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke and was released in 1998. It was her second album since the end of Dead Can Dance: the band officially ceased to exist that year. The album was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best World Music Album.
The record has a striking afterlife in film music. The beginning of Shadow Magnet partly influenced the music at the start of the Gladiator soundtrack. Nadir (Synchronicity) was originally intended for the closing of that film, but because of rights issues a piece inspired by it was used instead. Tempest and Sacrifice were heard in the film The Insider.
