From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
This album from 1969 was released by Atlantic. The pianist and singer Les McCann chose a very different tone here from that of Swiss Movement and Second Movement, the electric collaborations with Eddie Harris that came before and after. Comment is a quiet, gentle collection, mostly of love songs.
A large group of studio musicians plays on the album, including Ron Carter on bass and Billy Cobham on drums. Roberta Flack sings on the first two tracks. William Fischer wrote the arrangements for some of the tracks, with trumpets and trombones among other instruments. The closing song Yours Is My Heart Alone is by Franz Lehár and is given a choir here. The title track is by Yusuf Rahman and Charles Wright. AllMusic gives the album three stars and calls it a mellow set.
