From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Next is the third studio album by the American rock band Journey, released in February 1977. The group continued the direction of Look into the Future, but also held on to something of the progressive rock of the first album. Gregg Rolie sings most of the songs; Neal Schon himself sings Karma and I Would Find You. Aynsley Dunbar plays drums.

Spaceman and Nickel and Dime were released together as a single. The album reached number 85 on the Billboard 200. In retrospect Martin Popoff praised the variety and the many good songs, from prog to sophisticated ballads. According to AllMusic the group still lacked a powerful singer. It was the last album on which Rolie was the main lead singer.

Listening

Listening tip. Listen to Karma and notice the vocals of Neal Schon, who takes the lead himself here instead of Gregg Rolie.
