Swing Easy!
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Swing Easy! is Frank Sinatra's eighth studio album, released in 1954 on Capitol. It was his second record for the label and the first with arrangements by Nelson Riddle, who had only conducted on Songs for Young Lovers. Because only about fourteen minutes fitted on each side of a ten-inch record, the album contains eight songs.
As the title suggests, it is about bright, light-touch swingers. All the songs were standards, such as Just One of Those Things, Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams and All of Me. He felt that they benefited from the new theme, the new arrangements and his increasingly playful, layered singing. In 1955 the eight songs were combined with Songs for Young Lovers on a sixteen-track LP. In 2000 the record was placed at number 368 in Colin Larkin's list.
