Nothing Was the Same · Drake began work on his third album in 2012, shortly after Take Care. He moved to Los Angeles and said that he now felt content and proud. Marvin Gaye was a major inspiration, especially the album Here, My Dear. Drake did not want to make a pure rap record, but songs with more ballads.
