Stone Gon’

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Stone Gon’ · Stone Gon' was released in 1973 on 20th Century Records, shortly after the singer's debut. He arranged the record together with Gene Page. Frank Kejmar was the sound engineer, Craig Braun designed the sleeve and Norman Seeff took the photograph.

Like his first, the album topped the R&B chart and reached number 20 on the Billboard 200 and number 18 on the British album chart. Two singles reached the R&B top ten: Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up and Honey Please, Can't Ya See. Both also did well on the Hot 100, and the first became a hit in England too. In 1994 the record was released on CD, digitally remastered, on Island and Mercury.
