Un verano sin ti

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Un verano sin ti · Bad Bunny made this album almost two years after El Último Tour Del Mundo. He announced it with a stadium tour and an advertisement for his Bugatti, in which a phone call played a snippet of Un Ratito. He called it a record to play on the beach in summer, like a playlist.

With twenty-three tracks it is a wide-ranging collection. The basis is reggaeton and cumbia, with indie pop and psychedelia, and many Caribbean styles such as reggae, bomba, dembow, merengue and bachata. Guests include Bomba Estéreo, The Marías and Buscabulla. The sleeve, by the artist Ugly Primo, shows a sad heart in front of a sunny beach. Critics were very positive and praised the versatility. The album reached number one in the United States and was the first record in Spanish to be nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year.
