Downtempo, lounge and chill-out

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre

Downtempo, lounge and chill-out · Downtempo is slow, atmospheric electronic music with a beat. In the 1990s clubs had separate chill-out rooms, and in Ibiza Café del Mar played calm records at sunset. The softer varieties of trip hop and nu jazz ended up in cafés and hotels and on compilation albums with names such as lounge or chill-out.

Listening
