The pianist Leszek Możdżer was born in Gdańsk in 1971 and received a classical training at the music academy of his city. From 1991 he played in the group Miłość, which in the 1990s also performed and recorded with the trumpeter Lester Bowie. He became known for his own arrangements of Chopin and for solo records such as Piano (2004). With the Swedish bassist Lars Danielsson and the Israeli percussionist Zohar Fresco he recorded The Time in 2005; they have played together as a trio ever since. On the album Komeda (2011) he plays the music of Krzysztof Komeda solo. His playing combines classical technique with jazz improvisation.
