Gioachino Rossini
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Artist
Within a few years Gioachino Rossini became the most famous opera composer in Europe, and he wrote almost forty operas. His music teems with rapid vocal ornamentation and with long crescendos in which the orchestra grows steadily louder and fuller. According to tradition, he wrote Il barbiere di Siviglia (1816) in a matter of weeks. After Guillaume Tell in 1829 he lived for almost forty more years, mostly in Paris, without writing another opera.
