From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Approximately Infinite Universe · This double album from early 1973 is Yoko Ono's third solo album and was released on Apple Records. After two experimental avant-garde records, she opted for a more conventional pop and rock sound, with feminist rock here and there. The recording took place at The Record Plant in New York. Ono produced together with John Lennon, for whom this was a rare musical activity after the failure of Some Time in New York City.
The New York band Elephant's Memory played along. Lennon sang the last verse of I Want My Love to Rest Tonight and played guitar under the pseudonym Joel Nohnn. Mick Jagger dropped in during some of the sessions. The gatefold sleeve contains the essay The Feminization of Society. The album reached number 193 in the United States.
