Raditude

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Raditude is Weezer's seventh album and was released on 3 November 2009. It was the last on DGC and Interscope. The title was thought up by the actor Rainn Wilson, and the cover shows a dog. Rivers Cuomo sings all the lead vocals, and drummer Josh Freese played because Patrick Wilson took over Cuomo's guitar. Jacknife Lee was the producer.

The sound is mainstream pop, with help from outside writers. Cuomo wrote Can't Stop Partying together with Jermaine Dupri, with Lil Wayne as guest rapper. The first single was (If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To. In I'm Your Daddy, Kenny G plays a solo. The reception was mixed. AllMusic found the album full of creative energy; other critics called the lyrics juvenile. Guitarist Brian Bell himself had doubts about the pop direction.
