What's New Pussycat?
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
What's New Pussycat? is Tom Jones's second studio album. It was released to capitalise on the hit with the title song from the film What's New Pussycat?. Remarkably, the record came from his American label Parrot, not from Decca. Peter Sullivan produced, Bill Price was the engineer and Les Reed was the musical director.
The record also contains tracks that had been removed from the American version of his debut, such as I've Got a Heart, The Rose, Some Other Guy and Endlessly. Bama Lama Bama Loo, a hit by Little Richard, had been sung live by him earlier that year on an EP and appears here in a studio version. B-sides of earlier singles make up the rest.
