Along Came Jones
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Along Came Jones is the debut album of the Welsh singer Tom Jones. It was released in 1965 and contains his big hit It's Not Unusual. The record reached number 11 on the British album chart and stayed there for five weeks. Some tracks are covers, others were written especially for Jones, such as The Rose by Gordon Mills. The British edition has sixteen tracks.
The title possibly refers to a song of the same name. In June 1965, Parrot Records released a shortened twelve-track version in North America, under the title It's Not Unusual.
Listening
Listening tip. In It's Not Unusual, listen to the power of Jones's voice and notice how confidently he sings.
