From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Where Did Our Love Go is the second album by The Supremes, released in 1964 on Motown. It collects singles and B-sides from 1963 and 1964. Most of the songs were written and produced by Holland, Dozier and Holland. Smokey Robinson, Norman Whitfield and Robert Gordy each produced one or more tracks.

The album contains three songs that became the group's first American number ones: Where Did Our Love Go, Baby Love and Come See About Me. It also features When the Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes, their first top 40 hit. The vocals are by Diana Ross, Florence Ballard and Mary Wilson. The records featured Motown's session musicians, the Funk Brothers, including bassist James Jamerson and pianist Earl Van Dyke. In Where Did Our Love Go, vibraphone and foot stomping can also be heard.
