Push the Button

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Push the Button is the fifth album by the Chemical Brothers and was released in January 2005. It received mostly good reviews and in January 2006 won a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The British BPI certified it gold as early as 28 January 2005.

Galvanize was the first single, with Q-Tip as vocalist, and reached number 3 in the UK singles chart. The track contains a sample of Najat Aatabou. Believe reached number 18 and The Boxer number 41. BBC Music wrote that the duo returned with a rebellious rock record that blows away all stylistic boundaries. Complex was more critical and called it a hardly memorable project. As promotion the digital EP Live 05, recorded on the 2005 tour, was also released.

Listening

Listening tip. Listen to Galvanize and notice Q-Tip's voice over the duo's electronic sounds.
