Come With Us
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Come With Us · Come with Us is the fourth studio album by the Chemical Brothers and was released on 28 January 2002. After the world tour for Surrender, which lasted until the summer of 2000, the duo began work on new material. Recording took eighteen months. They experimented with new equipment, such as a Parker MIDI Fly guitar, and began with string arpeggios, hard MIDI notes and loose drum sounds. Richard Ashcroft and Beth Orton can be heard as guest vocalists.
It Began in Afrika started out as the club test Electronic Battle Weapon 5 and, together with Star Guitar, reached number 8 in the UK singles chart. Galaxy Bounce became known in the summer of 2001 through the soundtrack of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The album entered at number 1 in the United Kingdom, the third in a row. AllMusic felt that after Surrender, full of guest stars, the duo was getting down to business again.
