Born in the Wild

Born in the Wild · Tems became internationally known through Essence with Wizkid and co-wrote Rihanna's Lift Me Up. Her debut album had been announced for before 2023 but was a long time coming. In March 2024 she said that it was finished. At Coachella she had already played Love Me JeJe, the first song to be released. The album was released on 7 June 2024 and has eighteen tracks, including two interludes. Tems co-produced it herself, with GuiltyBeatz, Sarz and P2J among others. J. Cole and Asake are guests.

NME heard the rich diversity of West Africa in the music, from highlife to hip hop. Pitchfork called it adventurous and melancholy. In the United States it became the highest-ever chart position for a Nigerian female singer. Love Me JeJe won a Grammy for Best African Music Performance, and the album was nominated for Best Global Music Album.
