The Wild Heart
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
The Wild Heart is Stevie Nicks's second solo album, released on 10 June 1983. Recording began at the end of 1982, shortly after Fleetwood Mac's Mirage Tour. Her best friend Robin Anderson had died, and that gave her a new awareness of what her life and work were worth. In a few months the record was finished.
An unusually large number of guests played on it. Tom Petty wrote I Will Run to You, on which his Heartbreakers play. Steve Lukather of Toto played guitar on Stand Back, the album's biggest hit, with an uncredited synthesizer part by Prince. Beauty and the Beast closes with strings conducted by Paul Buckmaster. Billboard found the record harder-rocking than its predecessor Bella Donna. AllMusic wrote that anyone who loved Bella Donna would love this record too.
