Boomer’s Story

Boomer’s Story · Boomer's Story is the third studio album by the American roots musician Ry Cooder and was released in November 1972. A few guests take part on the record. There are two songs by Sleepy John Estes on the record, Ax Sweet Mama and President Kennedy. Estes sings the lead himself on the second, and his parts were recorded in Collierville, Tennessee.

The piano on Rally 'Round the Flag is played by Randy Newman. The Dark End of the Street, written by Dan Penn and Chips Moman, is best known as a recording by James Carr, but here it sounds like an instrumental in which the guitar carries the melody.
