On 8 April 1989 The Look by the Swedish duo Roxette was number one in America. That was thanks to an exchange student from Minnesota, who took the CD with him from Sweden and handed it in at the radio station KDWB in Minneapolis. The station played the song, and other stations followed. After ABBA, Roxette proved once again that Sweden could make English-language worldwide hits. Songwriter Per Gessle wrote it.
