In September 2003 Numb by Linkin Park was released as a single, from the album Meteora. The band blended metal with hip hop and electronics: nu metal. The singer Chester Bennington sang and screamed, and Mike Shinoda rapped and made beats. Numb is about someone who feels never good enough for others. It became one of the most streamed rock songs ever, long after Bennington died in 2017.
