Because of the Times

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Because of the Times is the third studio album by Kings of Leon and was released on 2 April 2007 in the United Kingdom, a day later in the United States. It received positive reviews overall and appeared on many album-of-the-year lists.

Opinions differed. NME wrote that the album made the band one of the great American groups of the day, and Entertainment Weekly called it a widescreen movie on CD. Others felt that the four Followill brothers and cousins were experimenting and losing their way a little. NME placed it at number 6 among the best albums of the year and Rolling Stone at number 31. In 2009 Clash placed it at number 3 on a list of the most important albums since 2004.
