Eye of the Zombie
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Eye of the Zombie · In September 1986 Fogerty's fourth solo album was released, and the first on which he played with a backing band. On the cover he wears a mask, made by make-up artist John Carl Buechler. Fogerty first wanted to have himself painted with tribal markings, but Warner Bros. refused, because David Lee Roth had already done so.
Change in the Weather leans on the Creedence sound, while Wasn't That a Woman and Soda Pop are his first excursions into funk and R&B of the sixties and seventies. The title song made the Billboard charts. Critics were divided: the record sold modestly and yet received a Grammy nomination, and SPIN spoke of his strongest and most passionate record.
