Private Passion
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
Private Passion is the fourth album by the American keyboard player Jeff Lorber and was released in 1986 on Warner Bros. Records. Karyn White and Michael Jeffries, who also played with Tower of Power, sing on the album. The artist himself plays mainly synthesizers and programs many of the parts.
It became his most successful album: it reached number 68 on the Billboard 200. The track Facts of Love reached number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained his only top-forty hit. The record also launched Karyn White's solo career. He himself was not happy with the direction of his solo albums of that period, in which he felt more like an accompanist in a vocal, R&B-oriented approach. He then took a break until 1993.
