One Size Fits All
From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work
One Size Fits All, from June 1975, is Frank Zappa's twentieth album and the last studio album by the Mothers of Invention. It was released on his own label DiscReet and followed Apostrophe, his highest-charting album in the United States. The record was made with the line-up of the Mothers from the summer and autumn of 1974: George Duke on keyboards and vocals, Chester Thompson on drums, Ruth Underwood on marimba and percussion, Tom Fowler on bass and Napoleon Murphy Brock on saxophone, flute and vocals. On Can't Afford No Shoes the bassist is James Youmans, because Fowler had broken his hand on tour. Captain Beefheart plays harmonica under a pseudonym.
He was very proud of the album and complained about the lack of promotion by the distributor, Warner Bros. Records. The cover shows a large sofa. According to a reviewer at AllMusic, it is an essential album from the band's third period.
