The Reminder

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

The Reminder is the third studio album by the Canadian singer-songwriter Feist. It was released on 23 April 2007 outside North America and on 1 May in the United States and Canada. In 2008 a deluxe edition followed with nine extra tracks, mostly remixes. One of the tracks, Sealion, is an adaptation of Nina Simone's 1964 See Line Woman. That song is about the life of a high-class prostitute.

The record yielded four singles: My Moon My Man, 1234, I Feel It All and Honey Honey. The big success came with 1234, which was heard in September 2007 in an Apple TV commercial for the iPod Nano. The song was written by Sally Seltmann. The video was filmed in one continuous take. Critics were enthusiastic: Rolling Stone put the album in its top 50 of 2007, it won the Shortlist Music Prize and two Juno Awards, and it was nominated for a Grammy.
