Revenge

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Revenge is Eurythmics' fifth studio album, released on 30 June 1986 by RCA in the United Kingdom. It builds on the sound of its predecessor Be Yourself Tonight and takes the duo even further towards a rock band style. Annie Lennox sings, David A. Stewart plays guitar and produced. Clem Burke plays drums and Michael Kamen wrote and conducted the orchestral arrangements.

The album yielded four singles. Missionary Man won the 1987 Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and Stewart was named British Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards. An extensive world tour followed, and a concert in Australia was later released on video as Eurythmics Live. The 2005 reissue contains Revenge 2, a very different version of the song Revenge from the debut album In the Garden.
