DARK&WILD

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

DARK&WILD is the first studio album by the South Korean group BTS and was released on 20 August 2014 on Big Hit Entertainment. It has fourteen tracks, with Danger as the title track and War of Hormone as the second single. Danger was recorded in an improvised studio in a garage in Los Angeles. Beforehand the label placed a countdown clock on the website and a trailer with contrasting images, and let Let Me Know, written and produced by Suga, be streamed for free.

The album is a continuation of the group's school trilogy and leads into the next series. The music combines grunge guitars with hip hop and connects with R&B and electronica. The lyrics are about growing up, youthful desires and impatience for love. The album reached number two in South Korea, number three on Billboard's World Albums chart in the United States and won a Bonsang at the Golden Disc Awards.
