Don’t Say No

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Work

Don’t Say No · Don't Say No is Billy Squier's second studio album, released on 13 April 1981. It became his greatest success. He produced it himself together with Reinhold Mack and played vocals, guitar and piano. Cary Sharaf plays the guitar solo on Lonely Is the Night.

The first single, The Stroke, did well on rock radio and also briefly made the British chart. In the Dark followed in the American top forty. Lonely Is the Night became one of his best-known songs, although it was not a proper single and had no video. The videos of this period show him on an arena stage and were regular guests on the new MTV. The album remained on the album chart for more than two years.
