iPod and the iTunes Store

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Technology

iPod and the iTunes Store · In October 2001, Apple presented the iPod: a small player with a hard disk and a click wheel, with ‘a thousand songs in your pocket’. In April 2003, the iTunes Store opened, where you could legally download songs for 99 cents each. From then on, you bought a single song instead of a whole album, and the single returned as a file. Apple's adverts, with silhouettes dancing to music by bands such as Jet and Feist, became a way of making a hit in themselves.

Listening

Listening tip. This song was heard in an iPod advert: why does it suit an image of someone dancing with earbuds?
