New Romantic

From HitStory, the pop encyclopedia of School of Rock · Genre

In the London club Blitz in the late 1970s, you only got in if you looked striking. Out of that scene came New Romantic, a movement within new wave that leans on glam rock, with make-up, historical costumes and gender bending. Duran Duran made expensive videos and stood at the start of the Second British Invasion via MTV.
